Felizitas Zechmeister is a German artist whose interdisciplinary practice encompasses Fine Art, contemporary painting, film, photography, communication design and art education. Her work focuses on visual perception, colour, image structure and materiality.
She studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (HBK) from 2001 to 2011, working in the artistic classes of Prof. Birgit Hein, Prof. John M. Armleder, Prof. Michael Brynntrup and Prof. Corinna Schnitt. She graduated in Communication Design in 2010 and Fine Arts in 2011. In 2023, she completed a B.A. KUNST.Lehramt / Art Education with History as a second subject.
Her early artistic practice includes experimental film, photography, printmaking and painting. Alongside her artistic practice, she worked in communication design, media production and education.
Since 2025/26, her artistic practice has focused increasingly on abstract and material-oriented painting. Her current series investigate colour, surface, materiality and light.

Felizitas Zechmeister comes from a family with an established artistic tradition.
Her father, Johann Zechmeister (b. 1949), is a Munich-based painter and graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Munich, where he studied in the class of Prof. Karl Fred Dahmen, specialising in painting, object art and graphics.
Her grandfather, Hans Stefan Zechmeister (1922–1979), was a painter and draughtsman. Born in Troskotovice/Treskowitz, he studied at the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna and later worked in Bavaria. He received the Südmährischer Kulturpreis in 1976.

Felizitas Zechmeister stammt aus einer Familie mit einer ausgeprägten künstlerischen Tradition.
Ihr Vater Johann Zechmeister (geb. 1949) ist Maler in München und Absolvent der Akademie der Bildenden Künste München, wo er in der Klasse von Prof. Karl Fred Dahmen mit dem Schwerpunkt Malerei, Objektkunst und Grafik studierte.
Ihr Großvater Hans Stefan Zechmeister (1922–1979) war Maler und Zeichner. Geboren in Troskotovice/Treskowitz, studierte er an der Graphischen Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Wien und arbeitete später in Bayern. 1976 erhielt er den Südmährischen Kulturpreis.
